At the end of October, a number of enhancements will be coming to the SuperSearch display. Most of these will be layout improvements, such as more consistent placement of full text links, but there are also a few functional changes. For example, selecting a limiter will immediately update the result list, eliminating the need to click an “Update” button. Efforts to make library materials more readily accessible to students and faculty by implementing patron-placed holds appear to be paying dividends. In August and September, there were 60 holds placed on Cowles items, 38 of which were patron-placed holds. This is a marked increase from the 24 holds placed during the same period last year (all of which needed to be placed by library staff).
